Company Members Abroad...

Adrianne Ansley (SFCC) is a native of Sarasota Florida born on November 16, 1992 to Mark and Katherine Ansley. When she was a little girl she began to take interest in dancing and soon wanted to become a professional dancer. The ‘Dance the Next Generation’ program put on by the Sarasota Ballet gave her the opportunity to take professional classes and turn her interest of dance into a motivating talent. Currently a senior in the Booker High School’s Visual and Performing Arts Dance Program, where she takes ballet, modern, and jazz, Adrianne has been in many of the fall and spring shows. She is also member of Senior Board as well as National Honor Society. Outside of school she is also involved in the youth ministry at Light of the World International Church. Adrianne believes it is important to be involved in her community which is why she serves as President of the Precious Pearls, a mentor program sponsored by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. She has also been taking professional dance lessons at the Sarasota Ballet School for the past 10 years. In this particular program, Adrianne training in both ballet and modern has helped her in the performances of the Nutcracker, Cinderella, Paquita, and Legends of Pixie Hallow. She attended the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center’s Summer Intensive Program in New York in 2009 and the American Dance Festival at Duke University in 2010. At ADF, Adrianne was able to perform in ‘West Side Story - Experts from the Musical’.

Zoe Austin (USF) has been inspired by dance ever since she was a little girl seeing her mother and father dance as professional ballet dancers. Growing up, she danced in her living room, putting on productions for her family. Unfortunately, she gave up on dance for a several years until high school, when she joined the VPA Dance program at Booker High School. Captivated by all the talent and modern movement that was in front of her, Zoe was inspired to push herself in dance and fell in love with movement. As a senior at Booker High School, she is ecstatic to join the Moving Ethos Dance Company as an apprentice. She is unbelievably honored to dance with them and to have this great opportunity to do what she loves while being around amazing people and dancers. She cannot wait to see where this takes her in life!

Jessica Ruddock (UF) is thrilled to be joining the Moving Ethos Dance Company this fall. Jessica is a recent graduate of University of Florida's BFA program with a degree in Dance. She is excited to have recently moved to the Sarasota area and pursue her artistic endeavors. Having gone to many, joyous lengths to develop her mind and body as a dancer, Jessica has shown choreography internationally in Israel and worked with various artists such as Neta Pulvermacher, Kristen O'Neal, Alberto Alonzo and Kelly Drummond-Cawthon. She has also had the opportunity to perform the repertory works of The Limon Dance Company, Arch Dance with Jennifer Archibald, The Neta Dance Company, and Shapiro and Smith. Currently, Jessica is working towards furthering her Pilates teaching methods for all ages. After a recent project using dance and exercise to improve the lives of people struggling with Parkinson's Disease, she hopes to use her training to create new projects utilizing the healing power of art. Jessica thanks both Courtney and Leah for this opportunity to immerse herself in a professional dance environment.

Cassidy Samelian (FSU) was born, raised and is still living in Sarasota, Florida, and has been dancing since the age of 4. She began her dance training at Sarasota Ballet and followed Deborah Vinton when she broke off and created her own studio. She has been a member of the West Coast Civic Ballet Company since its creation and has earned all of the Cecchetti Ballet exam certificates through the Advanced I level and is preparing to take the Advanced II examination. To further her ballet training, Cassidy attended such summer programs as the Atlanta Ballet and the American Ballet Theatre summer intensives. Since she started attending Booker High School as a freshman, she has discovered her love and passion of modern dance and has since attended the Bates Young Dancers Festival on full scholarship. She hopes to continue to improve upon her dancing by going to the American Dance Festival this summer and then continue on to major in dance in college after graduating from Booker.

Melissa Torres (California) was born and raised in Sarasota, FL. She received her professional training at the University of South Florida in Tampa FL, and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 2005. Her professional career began with two international performances in 2006 where she performed in Milan, Italy with Professor Jeanne Travers and in Cali, Colombia with Elsa Valbuena and her company Guadere Danza. She has also had the pleasure of performing with Moving Ethos, Fuzion Dance Artists, Moving Current Dance Collective, Michael Foley Dance and Musinc Artists. Pleased with her recent relocation to Los Angeles California, Melissa currently works under the artistic direction of Holly Johnston as Community Outreach Director and Performer for Ledges and Bones Dance Project. She hopes to continue impacting the dance community as an inspirational performer and teacher.

Ana Fiore (Connecticut) was born in Sarasota, Florida and began her dance training with Deborah Vinton at the age of three. Her early introduction to dance has evolved into a love of the art form and all that it requires of its participants. She is a senior at Booker High School and intends to continue expanding her knowledge and appreciation of dance in college next year. She has received scholarships to attend the Bates Dance Festival and the American Dance Festival. While at the ADF she performed in Dianne McIntyre’s recreation of Helen Tamiris’ “How Long Brethren” as well as works by Ashley Anderson, Ursula Payne, Kurt Haworth, and Amanda Loulaki.

Caroline Londergan (California) now lives in Los Angeles, CA. She has danced with Shelter Repertory Dance Theatre, Jeslyn Dance Gallery, Fuzion Dance Artists, and Moving Ethos. After eight years of touring and dancing professionally, she opened White House Pilates in Hermosa Beach. Caroline was the first to introduce the amazing benefits of Pilates to The White House, The United States Secret Service, and the Washington D.C. SWAT Team. She is a Certified Pilates Instructor through the PhysicalMind Institute/The Method Pilates as well as a Certified Yoga Instructor with the Yoga Alliance. She graduated cum laude with a BFA in Dance Performance, Choreography, and Education from Ohio University. Caroline looks forward to returning to dance with Moving Ethos in the future.

Miranda Balliet (Germany) has been entranced by the artistry of movement since birth. Born in a small town in Pennsylvania, she took her first dance class at the age of three, and dance has been a constant in her life ever since. Her love for modern dance began at first exposure while attending Lehigh Valley Charter HS for the Arts in Bethlehem, PA, and only continued to grow and develop at Booker High in Sarasota, FL. While there, Miranda met and was inspired by many artists, teachers and peers alike, and interned with FUZION Dance Artists. After graduation Miranda spent a year at the University of South Florida as a dance major, and simultaneously continued her involvement in the Sarasota dance community by dancing with Moving Ethos. Miranda is currently preparing for an adventure in Germany, and while she is sure she will have many gratifying and eye opening experience in the European dance world, she in comforted knowing she will always have a home within the Sarasota dance community and with the wonderful artists that complete Moving Ethos, wherever the road ahead takes her.
