Moving Ethos Dance Company
Moving Ethos was founded by Courtney Smith in 2006 as an effort to further the art form of dance on the West coast of Florida. In 2007, Moving Ethos acquired the talented Leah Verier-Dunn as co-Director. Together, these two Sarasota natives are giving back to the community that fostered their artistic growth, while bringing the arts back into the spotlight of human life. In 2008, the company became a non-profit corporation with it's 501c3 tax exempt status. This official status both enlivens the mission and helps accomplish the vision of this dance company.
The mission of Moving Ethos is to use the art form of dance to reflect the spirit of our culture and enrich our community through performance and education. The vision is to be an innovative dance legacy that propels our art form forward and deconstructs the boundaries that limit the imagination. We envision a company of experienced artists who will participate in ushering in a new era of modern dance through performance, education and community outreach projects. It is our goal to uplift and inspire people across the globe through the medium of dance.

What We Do...
Performances & Projects - formal concerts in traditional places, informal shows in unusual spaces, producing concerts for local artists, youth performances in the community
Education -an array of classes and choreography offered to schools, studios, colleges and universities to both the professional bound student and the community
Community Outreach - workshops, classes and performances designed to enlighten and inspire through the art of movement

Fostering Movement in all its forms through education at an affordable rate is a goal of ours. Currently, we are offering classes in yoga (all levels) and modern - beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Check out our Classes Page for more detailed information.

Moving Ethos is a non-profit 501c3 corporation whose funding comes from grants, performances and donations from people like you! Any kind and amount of your support is always appreciated so that we can give back as much as we can to our community. Donating is easy and it is a write-off on your taxes. Here's how to donate:
